10 out of 10

I have already written https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/06/de-la-cezar-la-churchill-by-francois.html about this, and I forgot, nevertheless, the conclusion is the same: this is a great read, and that should be the end of the ‘review’, except I will keep mumbling here, and you have been warned, spoiler alert!

I am thinking to include here the joke about Mitza and her visitors: these two ladies who could be my age visit Mitza, and the host offers some coffee, then again, after some ten minutes, and again, because she says ‘what kind of a person am I? Not to make some coffee?’ when they are out, the other two ladies say:

-          Oh dear, Mitza is getting old, she kept saying she would make coffee and she never did?

-          Who is Mitza?

I mention this blague at the club downtown, when I forget something…like what was I talking about? Oh, yes, Citations by Francois Bluche, a collection of some of the classic lines https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/08/darkest-hour-writer-anthony-mccarten.html from alea iacta est

and ‘Et tu, Brute?’ to the inspiring speeches of Winston Churchill – I rmeber an anecdote told by Orson Welles, you can probably find it on YouTube or somewhere, telling us how he met Winston Churchill, after the war, I think they had crossed paths, but the funny event took place once both were out of the limelight

I think they were in Switzerland, Orson Welles was trying to get financing for one of his motion pictures, he had already made what was considered The Best Film of All Time https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/08/citizen-kane-written-by-herman.html Citizen Kane and Winston Churchill was no longer Prime Minister

The latter gave a sign of recognition when he saw Welles, and the latter expressed his gratitude, and explained in private that he wants to get backing for his films, therefore, when they saw each other again, one of the greatest (maybe the best) politicians of the last century said hello, but added to that, he stood up

I cannot end this note without comparing Caesar with the would-be Orange Emperor, who just had UFC fights on…the lawn at The (former, now altered) White House – this was like in the ancient days, this is a mad man who acts like Caligula  https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/07/caligula-by-albert-camus-production-of.html

Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice written by Larry Tucker and Paul Mazursky, directed by the latter is included on The New York Times’ Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made list, and Variety has published recently its Top 100 Comedies – or else, I have learned about this lately – where this feature has a top spot, as far as I remember it is higher that the 50th spot – speaking of these pages, you have access to my own more than five thousand notes on films from these and other compilations, together with another five thousand reviews on magnum opera from The Greatest Books of All Time and other sites on my blog and You Tube channel https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html you may even subscribe, if you wish
