Kind Hearts and Coronets by Robert Hamer is on The New York Times’ Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made list, it was remade recently as How To Make a Killing, but alas, the latter is quite disappointing – you have thousands of notes on films from the NYT 1,000 and other sites on my blog https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html and YouTube channel, where the stars are my macaws

Made list, it was remade recently as How To Make a Killing, but alas, the
latter is quite disappointing – you have thousands of notes on films from the
NYT 1,000 and other sites on my blog https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html and YouTube channel, where the stars

8 out of 10
I have
already expressed some views on Kind Hearts and Coronets, although that was in
the form of a video note, with my macaws in the background https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/04/note-on-kind-hearts-and-coronets.html now I am under the impression of the
new adaptation – How to Make a Killing
Louis from
the first, much better, version has now become Becket Redfellow, the antihero
who is showing the audience How To Make a Killing, or better still, to abstain
from any such temptation, seeing that he is about to die…we know this early on,
no need for a spoiler alert, he is confessing to a priest before his execution
There may be
some surprises, that is if the viewer has the patience to wait till the end, in
my case, there is this new habit of ‘watching movies’ while doing something
else, even, paradoxically, checking about other motion pictures on the Variety
app on my phone, all right in cases such as this one, when the film is
forgettable
Blue Moon https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/12/blue-moon-written-by-lorenz-hart-robert.html is the epitome of the wonderful work
of art which deserves all the attention, and I mention it here because this is
the best movie I have seen recently, and it has Margaret Qualley in it, alas,
she could not lift How To Make a Killing
There are
some good intentions, I used to think that ‘hell is paved with good intentions’
comes from Shakespeare, apparently, it is a proverb, notwithstanding that, the
motion picture does try to convey the message that fortune hunting does not pay
– or does it? – look at the horror, and comedy, of all this killing…
I have said
what I think about the original, which is very good, and the recent adaption,
which critics have mostly rejected, it has a Metascore of 49, rather
unimpressive, and now I move on to what bothers me more: this war that affects
the world economy- I am afraid to check at our company, to see what the
situation is
We had zero
profit last year, ergo it could not be a wonderful outcome now, and then there
is this spending frenzy that my spouse has gotten into, well, she had had this
tendency all along, feeling that I have always been a client of the whore
houses (I have never been, if for no other reason, then it is because they are
expensive)
So, what to
do now? There have been quite a few bad days, what with a mate being rude, not
that he is so polite generally, one needs to read Flow https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/flow-by-mihaly-csikszentmihalyi.html again, to see how to get into The
Zone, get in control, with formidable concentration, stay between burnout and
boredom
