This is not all that bad!

 

Nevertheless, to have it among the Best Ever, even if we are talking about one thousand features, I would replace 10 with Blood Moon https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/12/blue-moon-written-by-lorenz-hart-robert.html in a jiffy, indeed, this comedy has no place among my favorites, it is banned, never to be watched again

 

On the other hand, you have a wonderful thespian – Julie Andrews – in the movie and she is a pleasure to watch, she cannot enthuse as she did in The Sound of Music https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/01/note-on-sound-of-music.html but these are of different caliber…

 

Dudley Moore is alright

 

Only we may have the reaction of Caesar in the hilarious History of The World by Mel Brooks, wherein the emperor looks at the tab with pearls, jewels, a massive treasure and goes:

In a very bored voice, making it clear that he is not satisfied, he is also immensely spoiled, which means I am trying some self-deprecating analysis, this 10 might be just the thing, but I am just stupidly fussy about it

the humor seemed silly: take this scene where the hero, George Webber aka Dudley Moore, is on a beach in Mexico, where the sand is too hot, so the man has to jump around, uses towels, lands in the water, near the shore

Then there is Bo Derek

She looks stunning, well, she did some forty years ago, I am not sure if she is still alive, her contribution is small

 

We have a lot of nudity, and the bodies look marvelous, but is this good enough?

There is some psychoanalysis, of some sort, the hero cannot perform with a woman, and then he lands in the bed of the goddess, except the latter is outré, she wants to have sex on Bolero by Ravel, sends the would be sex partner to bring the piece from the beginning, they did not have Alexa back then, and the whole is a failure, again, funny? Not for this cinephile
