10 out of 10

Tal Ben Shahar https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/choose-life-you-want-by-tal-ben-shahar.html used to be a quintessential Harvard Professor, he may still teach there, though I doubt it, he has had the most popular lectures in the history of that Ivy League institution, one in five students were enrolled for his classes

You can access those fabulous lessons online, on YouTube, where they are available free of charge – or they may have changed that, I have not checked recently – they can change your life, and they are also entertaining, for the professor mixed in humor, stories, scenes from Seinfeld, De Generes, Pay It Forward, Dead Poets Society

https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/dead-poets-society-by-tom-schulman.html Dead Poets Society is an inspirational feature, a fabulous classic, which has quite a few memorable scenes, one has the teacher, Robin Williams in excellent form, and the class climbing on top of their tables and one of the important messages was ‘Carpe Diem’

the Rabbi story, the one where this man comes to say he has troubles, then the wise man tells him to put the hens, then the goat, and horse, whatever there was available, and then to take all out, ergo the unhappiness transforms into gratitude, the lesson being to be ‘happy with what you have’ Seneca knew that

https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/08/the-tao-of-seneca-by-seneca-one-of.html in some ways, we have to find a balance between the extremes, Happy Habits have to take into account another rule, The Lasagna Effect, as the Harvard Professor called it, mixed in the explanations we have personal tales, such as this one…

Tal Ben Shahar’s favorite food is lasagna made by his mother, nevertheless, he could not have that all day, every day, hence The Lasagna Effect, the need to keep to Habits, but also throw in some change, by the way, I think he mentioned how you could get into the habit of running, by making it easier, sleep with the sports shoes near the bed

Perhaps something like that…there is also a difference that puzzled me, with Sonja Lyubomirsky https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/the-how-of-happiness-by-sonja.html the latter is of the opinion that the gratitude exercise should not be practiced daily, because it becomes routine, in a negative sense

On the other hand, Tal Ben Shahar, and others, believe in doing the ‘count your blessings’ every day, in writing is one way, expressing gratitude for good things that happened during the day (or week, for Sonja Lyubomirsky) https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/03/the-pursuit-of-perfect-by-tal-ben-shahar.html at the end, I will tell you about my blog, here it is:
