Martin Scorsese https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/03/taxi-driver-screenplay-by-paul-schrader.html is one of the greatest film makers of all time, and it is interesting to read about his career, challenges, he was taking (maybe a lot of) drugs, he was hyper tense, we can see that, to some extent, even now

There are some documentaries that show us what happened, one is American Cinema, and it comes on a loop, on one of the local stations, they have Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Brian de Palma, Jack Lemmon, Harrison Ford and many others speaking about the history of the industry, how they started, the way studios owned the stars…

One of the best books https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/easy-riders-raging-bulls-how-sex-drugs.html about motion pictures has the name of one of the Martin Scorsese classics in the title: Easy Riders, Raging Bulls, and we get a section on how ‘high’ most of the directors were in that period, and their outrageous acts

Daniel Day Lewis has one of the leading roles in The Gangs of New York, that of Bill The Butcher, albeit the documentaries I have mentioned state that Liam Neeson was supposed to take it, only the latter did not see himself with that part, and took instead the Priest Vallon, who dies in the opening scenes of the violent drama

https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/10/there-will-be-blood-written-and.html we were talking at the sauna, the other day, about method acting, with one of the best local thespians, he won the native Oscar aka The Gopo, and he said that he admires Daniel Day Lewis, known for the way he immerses into his roles

when he did My Left Foot, he would use The Left Foot, and had people transport him in a wheel chair, he really takes things seriously, Jeremy Strong is quite unliked for doing all of that, Brian Cox was talking about filming Succession, and now The Social Reckoning failed at the box office, I wonder how it did with the critics

The Gangs of New York has an all-star cast, Leonardo Di Caprio https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/10/the-great-gatsby-by-f-scott-fitzgerald.html arguably ahs the most important part, he is at his zenith, albeit he has had a few hiccups, as with Osange County, where he had an unfortunate role

Paul Schrader said that ‘Leo took the wrong part, that of an idiot, being with an idiot for three hours is too much’ something along these lines…I have decided to advertise my blog at the end of the note, instead of the beginning, with the idea that this might be of interest to those who went through with this to the end https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/08/do-you-have-any-suggestions-how-to-make.html
