The Bikeriders by Danny Lyon does not seem to exist on The Greatest Books of All Time site, where I tend to check my choices, despite the fact that some of my favorites are quite far down the list – nonetheless, you have thousands of reviews of magnum opera from The GOAT and other selections on my blog https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/08/do-you-have-any-suggestions-how-to-make.html and YouTube channel

Easy Rider https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/11/easy-rider-written-by-dennis-hopper.html is the ultimate motion picture on Bikeriders, the book was adapted for the big screen, and though it is not on the level of Easy Rider, it is quite good entertainment, HBO premiered this last night, which is a complicated move

They tend to put on ‘old movies’ on primetime – now that is a title we must see soon, with the ‘anti- tom Cruise’ new star, Robert Pattison – on Sunday evening, which is rather lame, considering this is a premium, paid for service, and it looks bad if you get to watch on it, whatever you get for free on the other film channels

Easy Rider was the subject of a few books – by the way, it looks like I am getting away from The Bikeriders, maybe for good, ergo here is our spoiler alert here, maybe you should say mbote https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/09/the-poisonwood-bible-by-barbara.html this comes from the mirific Poisonwood Bible

It means goodbye and hello, just like shalom…so, where were we? Oh, yes, with Easy Rider, a landmark, since it made so much money at the box office (studios jumped to copy the scheme, Digger will be the biggest bomb at the box office, notwithstanding the teaming of Cruise and Iñárritu) and it was such a hit with both critics and audiences

It launched the career of Jack Nicholson, albeit the others, Denis Hooper – a very difficult, outré fellow – and Peter Fonda were outshined by the bizarre lawyer, and we learn more about it in the book on films and stars https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/easy-riders-raging-bulls-how-sex-drugs.html which tells you so much about the history of cinema

“Fiction is infinitely preferable to real life. Fiction's people are fuller, deeper, cleverer, more moving than those in real life…Its actions are more intricate, illuminating, noble, profound…There are many more dramas, climaxes, romantic fulfillment, twists, turns, gratified resolutions…Unlike reality, all of this you can experience without leaving the house or even getting out of bed…What's more, books are a form of intelligent human greatness, as stories are a higher order of sense…As random life is to destiny, so stories are to great authors, who provided us with some of the highest pleasures and the most wonderful mystifications we can find…Few stories are greater than Anna Karenina, that wise epic by an often foolish author’

This is a quote from To The Hermitage https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/to-hermitage-by-malcolm-bradbury-author.html by Malcolm Bradbury and I try and use it when trying to determine if narratives and films pass the test, do they offer more illuminating, etc. actions, and alas, quite often, this is not the case…The Bikeriders is good, but https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/08/the-tao-of-seneca-by-seneca-one-of.html  as Seneca said: ‘time is the most valuable thing we have, though we treat it as if we had infinite resources, and especially at my age, emotionally and in terms of fitness, for I run 10 kilometers, three days a week, and do much more, look at my blog and the pictures with the lotus on head, I need to take only chefs d’oeuvre

Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice written by Larry Tucker and Paul Mazursky, directed by the latter is included on The New York Times’ Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made list, and Variety has published recently its Top 100 Comedies – or else, I have learned about this lately – where this feature has a top spot, as far as I remember it is higher that the 50th spot – speaking of these pages, you have access to my own more than five thousand notes on films from these and other compilations, together with another five thousand reviews on magnum opera from The Greatest Books of All Time and other sites on my blog and You Tube channel https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html you may even subscribe, if you wish

In The Fade aka Auf Dem Nichts, written by Hark Bohm and Fatih Akin

In The Fade aka Auf Dem Nichts, written by Hark Bohm and Fatih Akin In The Fade has won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film, although in this cinephile's opinion, Una Mujer Fantastica- which has won the Oscar in the same category- Nelyubov or The Square would have been better choices. Having said that, Auf Dem Nichts is a very good, significant, remarkable feature, that attracts attention to violence against minorities, in this case the Kurdish community in Germany. It is therefore not one sided, we do not have only Muslim lunatics killing innocent "infidels", but also some extreme Europeans murdering the other side. The problem is that, unacceptable, horrifying and vile as these acts are, it appears that the overwhelming majority of atrocities are committed by zealots acting in the name of Islam- radical and unrepresentative as they are for this supposedly peaceful faith, although there are passages in its holy book that seem to insist on a violent jihad and ultimat...
