I was dazzled by the motion picture which had the script written by Richard Condon, the director was John Huston, Jack Nicholson was Charley Partanna, the antihero, while his real-life partner, Anjelica Huston, daughter of the majestic John Huston was Maerose Prizzi, a part for which she won The Academy Award

Jack Nicholson https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/11/easy-rider-written-by-dennis-hopper.html became a star after Easy Rider, known simply as Jack, and he shines in the role of the hit man – just like he does in almost all the rest of the parts he had – apparently, he refused to be The Godfather, just as he declined other offers

Charley Partanna falls in love with Irene Walker aka Kathleen Turner, without knowing that she is also a killer, some scenes were repeated in our circle: ‘I’m never gonna forget this day, this dress, What’s that they’re playing? Wherever we go, this is gonna be our song’, then later, she talks about her late husband and Charley is going:

 

‘If he was so fucking smart, how come he is so fucking dead?’ it was in fact Partanna who killed him, and because this is a dark comedy, Irene has a contract on…Charley, it is not one of the best motion pictures ever, only we saw it under Ceausescu, and it was more than gold under those circumstances…I took part in the revolution, by the way, and here is the proof, in Newsweek http://realini.blogspot.com/2022/03/realini-in-newsweek-participant-in.html

  In The Fade aka Auf Dem Nichts, written by Hark Bohm and Fatih Akin In The Fade has won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film, although in this cinephile's opinion, Una Mujer Fantastica- which has won the Oscar in the same category- Nelyubov or The Square would have been better choices. Having said that, Auf Dem Nichts is a very good, significant, remarkable feature, that attracts attention to violence against minorities, in this case the Kurdish community in Germany. It is therefore not one sided, we do not have only Muslim lunatics killing innocent "infidels", but also some extreme Europeans murdering the other side. The problem is that, unacceptable, horrifying and vile as these acts are, it appears that the overwhelming majority of atrocities are committed by zealots acting in the name of Islam- radical and unrepresentative as they are for this supposedly peaceful faith, although there are passages in its holy book that seem to insist on a violent jihad and ultimat...
