Le Corsaire aka The Privateer by Marcel Achard – if you search for the author on The Greatest Books of All Time, which goes to 20,000 entries or more, you get…Marcel Proust, presumably, because Marcel Achard is not relevant enough, although he was elected, at the age of sixty, as member of The French Academy; you find more of my notes at https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/08/do-you-have-any-suggestions-how-to-make.html

George Constantin https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/09/vassa-zheleznova-by-maxim-gorky-is-not.html is the reason I have listened to this play, for the name of Marcel Achard was not familiar, when looking for him on The Greatest Books of All Time, the result is Marcel Proust, because Achard had little impact

I just realized that the next line could well serve as a spoiler alert, George Constantin was the greatest thespian for the under signed; as for spoiler alerts, they represent a moment of hilarity for yours truly, because on the one hand, I feel they are pointless, on the other I have had some clashes with MAGA people (is that correct?)

They are furious when these lines display disdain for their leader https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2024/02/all-presidents-men-by-carl-bernstein.html we have come such a long way since the days of Watergate, it seems there is a scandal of that magnitude, every single day now

Even one of those ghouls in command in The United States of Erica confirm this, JD Vance (if this were a script, or a play, onomatopoeia would be used, to ridicule, show Contempt) said recently that Watergate would disappear from the headlines in a matter of days, or maybe just in a few hours, dismissing what happened, probably

https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/03/all-kings-men-by-robert-penn-warren-won.html All The King’s Men by Robert Penn Warren came to mind, we have a number of tyrannies imposing their ways now, from China to Russia, but alas, we also have democracies, such as India, showing signs of frailty, leaders who act as despots

a few words about Le Corsaire, the spoiler alert was meant to show there are some things wrong with these lines, and one was the reference to the Villain, another is that there is not much I have to say about the play, if anything, except that if you listen to it on the National Radio (here, in my realm) it is a treat

chances are zero, in the USE – by the way, United States of Erica is mentioned in Lake Wobegon Days https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/lake-wobegon-days-nine-out-of-10.html where the author explains that Amerigo Vespucci deserved less to have his name remembered than Eric of Norway – there is another interesting part there

The Lake Wobegon Effect, often called the Lake Wobegon Fallacy, is the tendency to overestimate one’s abilities, the notion that most folks think they are better than the majority, again, this is the world of the braggadocio, those who have little self esteem https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/07/six-pillars-of-self-esteem-by-nathaniel.html

Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice written by Larry Tucker and Paul Mazursky, directed by the latter is included on The New York Times’ Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made list, and Variety has published recently its Top 100 Comedies – or else, I have learned about this lately – where this feature has a top spot, as far as I remember it is higher that the 50th spot – speaking of these pages, you have access to my own more than five thousand notes on films from these and other compilations, together with another five thousand reviews on magnum opera from The Greatest Books of All Time and other sites on my blog and You Tube channel https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html you may even subscribe, if you wish

In The Fade aka Auf Dem Nichts, written by Hark Bohm and Fatih Akin

In The Fade aka Auf Dem Nichts, written by Hark Bohm and Fatih Akin In The Fade has won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film, although in this cinephile's opinion, Una Mujer Fantastica- which has won the Oscar in the same category- Nelyubov or The Square would have been better choices. Having said that, Auf Dem Nichts is a very good, significant, remarkable feature, that attracts attention to violence against minorities, in this case the Kurdish community in Germany. It is therefore not one sided, we do not have only Muslim lunatics killing innocent "infidels", but also some extreme Europeans murdering the other side. The problem is that, unacceptable, horrifying and vile as these acts are, it appears that the overwhelming majority of atrocities are committed by zealots acting in the name of Islam- radical and unrepresentative as they are for this supposedly peaceful faith, although there are passages in its holy book that seem to insist on a violent jihad and ultimat...
