Matt Damon is formidable in the leading role of Bourne, I am looking forward to see him as Ulysses, in the feverishly expected the Odyssey adapted by Christopher Nolan, which could be as overwhelming as Oppenheimer https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/02/oppenheimer-is-fabulous-glasperlenspiel.html

 

The leading character is on board a ship in the opening scenes, where he has trouble remembering who he is, he suffers from amnesia, the captain helps him get to Switzerland, where he goes to this bank, where he has an account, they have a safe box for him, and the details of his palm in memory, this is how he gets access

He finds his name is Jason Bourne, but there are maybe more than five passports inside the box, in excess of a hundred thousand dollars, maybe close to a million – considering he says later this will give you so much in life, or something similar – the passports all have his photo, they pretend he is from Brazil, Russia, Canada…

 

Brian Cox https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/12/succession-created-by-jesse-armstrong_23.html plays Ward Abott, the nemesis of the hero, aka the anti-hero, although we are not sure at the start what the game is, Matt Damon will find gradually what he is capable of, and keeps asking himself and others who he is

 

he has an altercation at the American Embassy, when they try and hold him, in fact, I think it was the Consulate, but never mind, he is very capable, strong, an exceptional fighter, and he survives this extreme challenge, and he saw a woman who had some issues with money, the visa and some other things…

 Franka Potente is Marie, and we have a fabulous performance here – the actress was remarkable in the wonderful Run Lola Run – Jason comes to her, and he offers ten thousand dollars for a ride to Paris – he had found from the box at the bank that he lives in Paris, she is reluctant, and then he raises with another ten thousand

 

On the way to Paris, he explains that he has spectacular abilities, knows the registration plates of the cars outside this bar, evaluates people’s abilities to fight, and we will see him facing (other) killers, he is indeed a marvelous fighting machine, that others are determined to destroy, the trouble here is the conspiracy theory

  In The Fade aka Auf Dem Nichts, written by Hark Bohm and Fatih Akin In The Fade has won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film, although in this cinephile's opinion, Una Mujer Fantastica- which has won the Oscar in the same category- Nelyubov or The Square would have been better choices. Having said that, Auf Dem Nichts is a very good, significant, remarkable feature, that attracts attention to violence against minorities, in this case the Kurdish community in Germany. It is therefore not one sided, we do not have only Muslim lunatics killing innocent "infidels", but also some extreme Europeans murdering the other side. The problem is that, unacceptable, horrifying and vile as these acts are, it appears that the overwhelming majority of atrocities are committed by zealots acting in the name of Islam- radical and unrepresentative as they are for this supposedly peaceful faith, although there are passages in its holy book that seem to insist on a violent jihad and ultimat...
