Everything That Rises Must Converge https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/08/everything-that-rises-must-converge-by.html is a spectacular collection of short stories that is in the 494th position on The Greatest Books of All Time site, and one of my Absolute Favorites – this is the second time that I am reading it

 

In fact, this time it is an audiobook format, so I am listening to the Collection – in the meantime, I have searched for Flannery O’Connor and found that she had peacocks, we thus have something in common, more or less, because I also have ‘exotique’ birds, macaws, Balzac and Puccini in my case, they are roaming about just now

Julian is one of the two main characters of Everything That Rises Must Converge – incidentally, I admire Flannery O’Connor and this magnum opus so much that I had a t-shirt with this title on it made at our company – if you need our services, write, call, etc., I am a junior partner there, and the profit is…zero now

There are many Psychos https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/04/american-psycho-by-bret-easton-ellis.html within MAGA - something like 85% of those approve of their Caligula notwithstanding all he does – but the mother from the short story does not seem without Emotional Intelligence, though she would be in the MAGA camp today

 

She talked to Julian about her parents’ plantation, before the abolition of slavery, and I wonder what happens to her at the end, I can speculate on that because it is not clear, she may have to suffer for her prejudices, she thinks the black people were better off in the slavery days, while her son tries to make her see how wrong she is

  In The Fade aka Auf Dem Nichts, written by Hark Bohm and Fatih Akin In The Fade has won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film, although in this cinephile's opinion, Una Mujer Fantastica- which has won the Oscar in the same category- Nelyubov or The Square would have been better choices.
