8 out of 10

Krzysztof Kieslowski is celebrated as one of the greatest film makers of all time, his Dekalog https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/10/dekalog-episode-8-by-krzysztof.html is included on The TIME 100 Best Movies list, and his trilogy has also made it into the most prestigious compilations, though I do not know about mine

It is part of The New York Times’ Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made list, and it has an incredible 100 out of 100 Metascore, which means that 95 important critics thought it perfect – you find this relevant, key parameter on the IMDB page, and the Metascore one evidently, they look at what serious experts say and give you their opinion

Indeed, this is thought provoking, a motion picture with fantastic performances: Jean Louis Trintignant https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/07/z-by-vassilis-vassilikos-95-out-of-10.html is one of the best thespians out there, you can see him in chefs d’oeuvre, from Z by Vassilis Vassilikos to Amour by Michael Haneke

I was also impressed by Irene Jacob, for this cinephile, this was a quite unfamiliar name, not part of the group of stars like Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Hupert (or Adjani), Cecile de France, Brigite Bardot – deceased a couple of months ago – Audrey Tautou, Lea Seydoux and the list is long, however, I had seen Irene Jacob before…

In Au Revoir les Enfants https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2024/10/au-revoir-les-enfants-by-louis-malle-my.html I now think that the French cinema is actually ‘greater’ than the American one, which is a silly thing to say, but there are advantages in being hidden in this remote corner of the net, where very few penetrate

You cannot (well, you could, here is the proof) compare ‘apples and oranges’, a huge, divine list of American auteurs with another fantastic group of French, or other nationalities, magicians that have given the world superb, everlasting works of art, I am just mad at the majority of Americans, the MAGA club

Indeed, Jean Louis Trintignant plays a retired judge, who is spying on his neighbors, and that brings me to…my leitmotif: how erratic, supernatural the world has become, I mean in ancient history you had a lot of problems, but also Marcus Aurelius https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/06/meditations-of-aurelius-new-translation.html

Meanwhile, progress in the realm of politics, leadership has brought us as far as Orange Caligula, https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/07/caligula-by-albert-camus-production-of.html an idiot who is a fan of Putin, and other tyrants, one who attacks allies, wants to abandon NATO, the list of monstrosities is so long that I give up here and now
