Boccacio ’70 written and directed by Vittorio de Sica, Federico Fellini, Mario Monicelli and Luchino Visconti, based on the stories of Boccaccio – The Decameron is one of The Best 100 Books of All Time, albeit on the Bokklubben World Library list, while on The Greatest Books of All Time site, the algorithm places this at 124th – you find thousands of notes on films from The New York Times’ Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made and other lists, and reviews of magnum opera from the aforementioned and other sites on my blog https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html and YouTube channel

7 out of 10

I have been exhilarated by Boccaccio https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2024/10/los-mejores-cuentos-eroticos-aka-best.html indeed, his Decameron is one of The Top 100 Best Books of All Time, or 124th, if you consult the newer site, The Greatest Books of All Time, which is supposed to have a powerful algorithm

It was not just a question of art, value, back in the communist days, for in the absence of other, better material (from the erotica point of view) we were using The Decameron as ‘stimulating reading’, looking for the passages that described, or suggested intimacy, sexual acts, and sometimes even…perversions, at least for those times

Some of the tales there are still in my mind: take the one where this monk is visited by a young woman – I hope she was not too young, though there were different standards back then, and I can’t remember this detail – and tempted by Satan, presumably, he decides to have sex with her, and lies about it, saying they will put the devil in hell

We had a Revolution and I took part in it http://realini.blogspot.com/2022/03/realini-in-newsweek-participant-in.html we got rid of Ceausescu – Trump is a sort of Orange Ceausescu – although some say it was a ‘conspiracy theory’, and I maintain that it was a spontaneous uprising, confiscated by neo communists, and now we have internet porn

One of the episodes of Boccaccio ’70 has this puritan, pretentious man opposing all ‘obscenity’, things he sees as offensive, only seeing that he is a Taliban avant la lettre, retrograde and fanatic, we have comedy here, because he attacks women he thinks are indecent, eventually, he wants a poster to be covered

On this massive banner, we have the image of Anita Ekberg https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/06/la-dolce-vita-written-with-others-and.html famous for her role in La Dolce Vita, wherein she has that iconic scene, entering the water of the Fontana di Trevi, at least I think that was the name of the place

The segment where she is on the poster, and this fellow wants to have her removed, or covered by the workers – one of them makes me think of ‘a thing of beauty is a joy forever’- because he is disturbed by the sex appeal – and now I must say that at the gym, we had this dispute over looking at the bottoms that are covered…

But only by tight shorts, tights that show every curve, one can see anatomic parts, back and front, on some or most of them, and I say ok, fashions, rules, standards change, but I am supposed to what? Look away, even if this attracts the attention (and it is meant to?) and I know this signal is meant for very few males, tall, handsome, etc., but I happen to be there, and I am just looking, or even that is not part of the game people play https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/games-people-play-by-eric-berne.html
