Black Sunday by Thomas Harris is one of The 1,000 Novels Everyone Must Read, although it is ranked only 5375th on the Greatest Books of All Time, the author has two other books that are acclaimed: Red Dragon, and the better known Silence of The Lambs – The Orange American Psycho keeps talking about the ‘great Hannibal Lecter’, but then he is so much off his rocker that this only confirms the diagnosis – you find thousands of notes on magnum opera from the aforementioned and other sites on my blog https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html and my well hidden YouTube channel

7 out of 10

Everyone knows about Silence of The Lambs https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2023/12/silence-of-lambs-based-on-novel-by.html even the American Orange Psycho who keeps talking about the ‘great Hannibal Lecter’, either because he has no idea who that is, or he fancies himself as another serial killer, and he likes those monsters

We do have a few psychopaths in Black Sunday, terrorists plotting to commit a massacre at the Super Bowl, where the president would be in attendance: Dahlia, Lander and Fasil fall in this category, the latter was responsible for the Munich attack at the Olympics, when members of the Israeli delegation had been murdered

There is an astounding film directed by Stven Speilberg that shows you the Payback, how the Israelis directed the Mossad to find and kill the terrorists responsible for Munich https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/04/munich-screenplay-by-tony-kushner-eric.html Fasil would have been one of them

It could be fiction, or maybe based on truth, we have in real life events that are unbelievable, both in showing the prowess of intelligence agencies and the contrary- in the meantime, The Mossad has decapitated many of the leaders of its enemies, with the pagers in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah operatives…

The war in Iran was started at the signal of agencies like, or exactly the Mossad again, for they knew where the ayatollah was having a meeting, on that Saturday, about five weeks back, and they got him, along with other henchmen, as ordered by Bibi https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/10/the-netanyahus-account-of-minor-and.html

There are mixed feelings here: on the one hand, the ayatollahs have been awful, heinous, so their regime should end, but on the other hand, this war seems to be heading the wrong way, they have the upper hand, they closed the straits of Hormuz and keep the world economy hostage, they will be more determined to get an atomic bomb

Which brings me back to the scenario in the book: for Black Sunday, the plan is to have massive casualties, at the Super Bowl, the Mossad tries to stop that, though Kabakov mainly, but if the fanatics get their hands on nuclear weapons, well, let us not get into that…there is another aspect of the book that is relevant for today:

The Israelis are worried that America will distance itself from Israel, due to that horrible attack, if it would succeed, and we now see that there is a growing distance between the two allies, in matters of public opinion, the leaders are close, but then in democracies what voters think matters, that is, if the US does not become an empire with Orange Caligula at the helm
