Oppenheimer
is not just the best motion picture of 2023 (yes, there is still The Killers of
The Flower moon, Maestro, and the recently released on Netflix May December to
be seen, and they will be among the best, but number one is still undisputed)
but a phenomenon and will remain in history as a landmark.
Which is
why this is a second note on the subject –the other one is at the link above –
following after a spoiler alert, warning, disclaimer all wrapped into one –
these lines are not interesting, leave before you feel you write a report ad I
have Goodreads telling me this is ‘spam’, which they did for Cleo from 5 to 7
Thus, I
keep posting the link until I get tired or canceled for good and all, because
this is so god damn unfair http://realini.blogspot.com/2023/07/cleo-from-5-to-7-aka-cleo-de-5-7-by.html since I told them about this
Goodfella, Socrate, who dominates the charts in our republic, where he is
Number One on Goodreads, with a good many thousands of ‘reviews’, which are
Absolutely False, he just copies texts.
Then he
puts online some hundreds per day (it is clear this is some sort of ‘human
machine’, which is just out there for the undeserved top spot, and they used to
check to see if you are a robot) without any single letter that belongs to
him…this is not to say that what one could read (but better not, there is your
second warning here) such sage, informative, mirthful, amusing, competent notes
here, no, they better search elsewhere
Coming back
to Robert Oppenheimer, he was a controversial figure, and Japan was dismayed at
the success the film has had, especially looking at the segment where the giant
scientist addresses a crowd with words like ‘I do not know about the atomic
bomb, but I do know what the Japanese feel about it’
In fact, I
should delete the paraphrase, because I recognize it as pure invention, only
why not let it be, as yet another proof that this is flawed, but hey, it does
proof what I was saying above, it is at least ‘real’, in that I did not go to
the google search engine to provide some content that I could then sign and
pass as mine, to show people ‘look who is the Top dog in this realm, it is
Socrate, the big Con Man’
The
invention of the atomic bomb could be seen as the moment when humanity signed
its death warrant, sentence, but we could also look at the benefits, the fact
that nuclear power is ‘clean’, it I am not mistaken, we could put it in the
‘zero emissions’, zone however imperfect the solution is and controversial.
Germany has
decided to stop using nuclear power and has shut down most (the plan is for all
them to be closed) of its atomic energy plants, albeit this could be regretted,
it had happened as the Fukushima disaster was unfolding in Japan, in the wake
of a powerful earthquake that has caused an immense tsunami…
France on
the other hand, and others, including our own land, continue to use nuclear
energy, which in spite of the risks involved (and that is a serious caveat and
issue, for terrorists could attack them, earthquakes and accidents take place,
Chernobyl is there as a huge alarm bell) could help humanity solve Climate
Change
Robert
Oppenheimer was torn apart by the conflict between the need to race ahead of
the Nazis, and provide the camp of the virtuous (especially when compared with
the foes) with the winning tool, and the awareness that this is a huge danger,
in conversation with Leslie Groves aka Matt Damon in the stupendous film there
is a horrifying (well, there are many actually) moment when we hear about the
future
The hero
(anti-hero clearly for many) is not sure if the explosion of the bomb will not
set off a chain reaction that would set the atmosphere on fire, and hence
destroy the planet, or anyway, wipe up humankind, the stakes were high, indeed,
this is what makes this narrative and the motion picture so compelling…
The future
of humanity was and is at risk, because they did not know the impact of the
bomb, just that it will be immensely powerful, and now, with a colossal
arsenal, much of it in the hands of tyrants, like Putin, Xi, the mad one from
North Korea, disreputable Modi, shady ones in Pakistan, the chances of
something going terminally wrong have increased, and we could see the end sometime
in the future
Nonetheless,
there are arguments that see the benefits of the nuclear weapons, one of the
greatest thinkers of our time, Yuval Harari, has highlighted in his magnum
opera the fact that the world has been mostly at peace, for the last decades,
and one reason would be that the nuclear options are such powerful deterrents
Home Deus –
A Brief History of Tomorrow http://realini.blogspot.com/2022/02/homo-deus-brief-history-of-tomorrow-by.html depicts a ‘rosy image’ of the
future, as it is plain from the use of Deus, as in humans will be like gods,
able to live almost eternally (this is an oxymoron, that could be deleted, but
the mission here is to contrast the falsity of number one for Romania, and the
inefficiency of Goodreads, which allows such a fraud, whereas yours truly is so
genuine, if foolish, wrong, obtuse, etc.) which was obliterated by the recent
wars in Ukraine, Sudan, and even Israel, the home of Yuval Harari, who has
shown prophetic abilities, when he wrote an article for The Economist, in which
he predicted some of the things that would happen, after the Russians attack
their neighbor…
Now for a
question, and invitation – maybe you have a good idea on how we could make more
than a million dollars with this http://realini.blogspot.com/2022/02/unique-in-world.html?q=unique+in+the+world – as it is, this is a unique technique, which
we could promote, sell, open the Oscars show with or something and then make
lots of money together, if you have the how, I have the product, I just do not
know how to get the befits from it, other than the exercise per se
As for my
role in the Revolution that killed Ceausescu, a smaller Mao, there it is http://realini.blogspot.com/2022/03/realini-in-newsweek-participant-in.html
Some
favorite quotes from To The Heritage and other works
‘Fiction is
infinitely preferable to real life...As long as you avoid the books of Kafka or
Beckett, the everlasting plot of fiction has fewer futile experiences than the
careless plot of reality...Fiction's people are fuller, deeper, cleverer, more
moving than those in real life…Its actions are more intricate, illuminating,
noble, profound…There are many more dramas, climaxes, romantic fulfillment,
twists, turns, gratified resolutions…Unlike reality, all of this you can
experience without leaving the house or even getting out of bed…What's more,
books are a form of intelligent human greatness, as stories are a higher order
of sense…As random life is to destiny, so stories are to great authors, who
provided us with some of the highest pleasures and the most wonderful
mystifications we can find…Few stories are greater than Anna Karenina, that
wise epic by an often foolish author…’
‚parturiunt
montes, nascetur ridiculus mus’
“From Monty
Python - The Meaning of Life...Well, it's nothing very special...Try and be
nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some
walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all
creeds and nations.”
