This is a fabulous essay, from one of the most brilliant intellectuals on the planet, who happens to live in our realm, which makes his compatriots so lucky, albeit we do not show the beatitude, admiration that he deserves, on the contrary, there are many punks, ruffians that attack him online and show their value, or lack thereof

 

However, the essay is about Tolerance and Intolerance, and I have started with the latter – let us get things straight and say that you should not read these lines, especially given that the text of the Magister Ludi is so short, one would need no comments on it – you have the ‘review’ of one loonie fella on Goodreads

Let me continue with an example of intolerance – this figure that calls himself ‘Socrates’ has reached number one in our land, in terms of written ‘reviews’, also books read, when all he does is put in some quote from the book and then adds absolutely nothing to that…now what kind of a fraud is that?

 

So as ‘review’ for this copy we have his copy/paste technique and that is all…with tolerance and humility, the next step to take is say that his method could be better, you are served more, when you have some lines from the Master himself, than whatever nonsense I could put it, even if it is ‘original ‘and not ‘stolen’

By the way, you have no idea that it is actually from the essay itself, for there are no signs to indicate it, in fact, for the unaware, it looks as if this amateur has been in the room and there was this lecture and he thought of…which is what is written by Andrei Plesu, only in the manner included, you do not know

Andrei Plesu gives the example of a pipe, that has to have a certain quality, you can accept a difference from the design, the plan, but within limits, if it falls outside, then it has to be discarded, it cannot be used in the structure for which it had been intended, and this applies to our society, where tolerance could not be infinite

Karl Popper is quoted with saying ‘unlimited tolerance leads to the disappearance of tolerance’, ‘it can lead to paralysis, it could get close to cowardice, it can be hypocrisy that seems right, but it is not, one can be tolerant from opportunism or indifference, the frivolous are easily tolerant and finally, there is a quote from Goethe ‘it is not good to tolerate what is not good’, ‘tolerance can be insulting for the tolerated’

 

What happens in the world now is analyzed, this tendency to show unlimited tolerance, all in the name of harmony, not hurting anyone, ends with the problems aforementioned, albeit Andrei Plesu is not inflexible, he could not be, he just looks at issues with his sharp, superb mind and also explains how a minority can become imperative

There are caveats here, to insist on the warning I have written above, this is not to be ‘tolerated’,  you are wrong to continue with this scribbling, and it is the text of the Magician that counts, writing some thoughts here might help me see different side, but in no way could it help anyone serious

Tolerance for the one led to insult for the other, and I have made a vow of silence, I am not going to talk with my Zelig for some time, since any young intruder gets his sympathy, tolerance, and I am no longer tolerated…
