Dune written by Denis Villeneuve, Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth, based on the novel by Frank Herbert, which is ranked 101st on The Greatest Books of All Time site, it is included on The 1,000 Novels Everyone Must Read list, although it is not a story I get; you have thousands of reviews of magnum opera from The GOAT, 1,000 Novels and other pages on my blog https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/08/do-you-have-any-suggestions-how-to-make.html

I have tried
https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2024/09/dune-by-frank-herbert-my-other-note-on.html the celebrated Dune before, in book
format, that is audiobook, and I did not find the oomph, stamina, determination
to get on with it, I was thinking that perhaps the movie adaptation will catch
my attention, appreciated as it is
Alas, it did
not happen, granted, we seldom have a motion picture that is better than the
original, it happened to me in the case of Doctor Zhivago, where the film is
phenomenal, and the book has disappointed me, David Lean, Omar Sharif, Julie
Christie, Rod Steiger, Alec Guiness, Tom Courtenay make this spectacular
https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2023/11/doctor-zhivago-screenplay-by-robert.html at least for this story I could go
along, with both the book, which has failed to impress me, and especially the narrative
on the screen, the revolution, attacks on the streets, the love story, splendid
scenes in the snow, a glorious work of art
Timothee
Chalamet is the man of the moment, or at least one of the rising stars in
Hollywood, except he has become something of a liability for the under signed,
in the sense that once he is in a feature, I have doubts, disliking his
approach, even more his off-stage persona, what with the attack on opera, which
is for the creme de la crème
https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2024/05/call-me-by-your-name-screenplay-by.html whatever he said, it was distasteful,
albeit I have to admit that his early success for Call Me by Your Name was
merited, I am looking forward to seeing Artificial, directed by the same Luca Guadagnino,
who gave us the aforementioned Call Me by Your Name
in fact, I
enjoyed Challengers more, Luca Guadagnino has worked with Zendaya – whose
presence in Dune does not improve things, though I like her style – Josh
O’Connor and Mike Faist with excellent results, a motion picture about tennis
does not exactly meet my usual requirements, despite the fact that it has
eroticism…
and that is
clearly a major advantage, furthermore, the three leads have a menage a trois,
taken to a degree that is more than enticing…Denis Villeneuve https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/12/arrival-written-by-eric-heisserer-and.html is clearly talented, I have liked
Arrival, and Sicario, and I am sure Dune is good
impressive
film making, but then what to do with an audience, even a cinephile, who
misbehaves, like the spoiled emperor from History of The World https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/02/history-of-world-by-mel-brooks.html as told by Mel Brooks: they bring a
massive treasure and Dom DeLuise as the tyrant is just saying ‘nice, not
thrilling, but nice’
