Dissolution by C.J. Sansom, adapted for BBC Radio – the oeuvre is one of The 1,000 Novels Everyone Must Read, albeit the algorithm for The Greatest Books of All Time site has it in the 5959th place; for more of my reviews you can access https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/08/do-you-have-any-suggestions-how-to-make.html this is where you see more pictures and videos of my macaws, one photo is inserted here

The Daughter
of Time https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/02/the-daughter-of-time-by-josephine-fey.html is the Best Book in The Top 100
Crime Novels of All Time, which is a list published in 1990 by the Crime
Writers' Association (CWA), and it came to mind while reading Dissolution, which
is also one of The 1,000 Novels Everyone Must Read
One of the
Six Principles of Influence is Conformity, explained in the psychology classic
by Robert Cialdini, manifest in the way we reciprocate when we receive
something, this happens to the likes on Goodreads and elsewhere, and it works
when reading, I realized a little earlier, this is about the Middle Ages, ergo,
The Daughter of Time is invoked
The Principles
of Influence include Respect for Authority, which is at work when I choose the
novels I read https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/03/influence-psychology-of-persuasion.html they come from one of the prestigious
lists, All-TIME 100, Modern Library’s Best 100, Top 100 Crime Novels of All
Time, Dissolution is in none of those
There is a
caveat, maybe even a spoiler alert was required, earlier on, this note refers
to an adaption of the oeuvre in question, BBC has a very good take on it, as
usual, I would add, nevertheless, what I say here is not about the original,
albeit, first, who cares, who gives a damn, since the war, to quote a line from
a motion picture…
Second, I am
confident that my perspective would be the same, were this version the complete
one, maybe there would have been a little less pleasure, with the story
dragging for longer, as it is, we have the formula from To The Hermitage https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/to-hermitage-by-malcolm-bradbury-author.html
There are
‘more twists, romantic fulfillment, the characters are cleverer, deeper,
nobler’, if not all of them, than we meet in reality, the conclusion in To The Hermitage
is that reading is preferable to the real world, I am not sure about that,
however, Dissolution was a good entertainment, in the version produced by The
BBC
