Winner of The Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, George
Clooney was excellent as Bob Barnes, and was also nominated for an Academy
Award for Best Writing, Original Screenplay – you find thousands of noted on

9 out of 10
I had
already written https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/02/syriana-based-on-book-by-robert-baer-94.html about Syriana, but it was included
in the program of one of the twenty or more film channels last night, and I
took a few looks, in between advertising, saw George Clooney while his
tormentor, was extracting his nails
Syriana has
themes that are vital right now: Middle Wast conflict, oil, America, the CIA, nevertheless,
what was happening some twenty years ago does not look like what we see at the
news today, even if most of the problems there are millennia old, we can except
that technology will make things much worse…
Indeed, the
use of drones has been a dramatic game changer, we have seen the transformation
in the war in Ukraine, the Russian invaders had been provided by Iran with
these new tools, and now they had been flying in the Middle East https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/03/fire-and-fury-inside-trump-white-house.html
I was
thinking about Sapiens - A Brief History of Humankind written by one of the
brightest luminaries of our time, Yuval Harari, and what he says about the
peace that had been specific for the last part of the twentieth century, and
how we seem to move on to such perilous times, the danger being that the next
wars would get nuclear
The idea of
preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear bombs is not just wonderful, it seems to
be a sine qua non, except it seems so complicated now, Yuval Harari is Israeli https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/08/sapiens-brief-history-of-humankind-by.html if a liberal, so different from
Netanyahu
If Iran has
nuclear bombs, then the rest will want and get them, Saudi Arabia, other Gulf
states- America appeared to do the right thing, menacing, then attacking the
Islamic state, to destroy nuclear capabilities – this being the new Caligula,
the goals and everything else changed, Iran looks like the winner now
The Paradox
od Choice is a psychology classic by Barry Schwartz, which was such fun to read
– it started with the buying of jeans, how there is a myriad of versions, then
how people are overwhelmed by too much choice, which explains the title, if clients
are offered too many choices, they do not buy, in tests that are in the book
https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/the-paradox-of-choice-by-barry-schwartz_30.html nonetheless, there is a much more
import idea – there are two types of humans, satisfizers and maximizers, the
former are happy, because they accept what is very good, while the latter group
is unhappy…
