An interesting satire

It reminds me of Caragiale.

There are a series of very short, but relevant tales of evils that affect the life of our people in the present and past.

One of the vignettes refers to a familiar situation, where two supposed friends are involved, with a third party interested but in absentia

-          The child of a friend has a problem

-          Yes…

-          He was given a bad evaluation

-          And…

-          He is a good guy

-          I see

-          But the damn teacher gave him a three

-          And what can I do…

-          You know so many people

-          And what does this have to do with…

-          Your friend Ionescu could talk with Petrescu...

This resembles a tale by Caragiale- The Chain of Weaknesses, where a whole gang of people get involved to save a lousy student.

Save in the sense of making him pass on to another class, even if he does not deserve it- not in the least.

But corruption used to be rife and it still creates many problems – almost every single day we see top dignitaries going to prison for….corruption

Another aspect that plagues our public life even today is the lack of dedication for the public good, widespread among civil servants.

And that is the case of officials elected in local elections and at the national level.

In this short tale the officials in a county drink together from early morning and seem to do nothing else.

Oh, I forgot- they sleep and then complain in the morning about their lack of …rest.

Another little satire deals with those who take loans and then treat the money they own like it is none of their business.

Two acquaintances talk about money-

-          I came for the money you owe me

-          Now?! It is spring I need to buy new clothes, paint the house

-          How about now…says the man later on

-          It is impossible…later!

-          In autumn…give me the money

-          It is raining, the roof needs fixing

-          Asking for the money in winter produces the same result

-          We need wood for the fire!!
