Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton is one of The 1,000 Novels Everyone Must Read, yet it is ranked only 1529th on The Greatest Books of All Time site, the reading public was thrilled, it has nearly 1.1 million ratings on Goodreads – I had not been expecting it, but this rather long read has captured almost all my attention…there are thousands of reviews of magnum opera from The GOAT and other sites on my blog https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html and YouTube channel, where my small dinosaurs are present

Park by Michael Crichton is one of The 1,000 Novels Everyone Must Read, yet it
is ranked only 1529th on The Greatest Books of All Time site, the
reading public was thrilled, it has nearly 1.1 million ratings on Goodreads – I
had not been expecting it, but this rather long read has captured almost all my
attention…there are thousands of reviews of magnum opera from The GOAT and

I have seen
the motion picture based on this book and liked it, except that made me except
a different scenario, and I had taken the novel with somewhat low expectations,
probably in large part due to The Lost World https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/06/note-on-lost-world.html an annoying feature, if you ask me
As far as I
can remember – perhaps not much – Jurassic Park the movie has a gradual
approach, you have those visitors riding in those four-wheel drive cars, and
the dinosaurs are grazing peacefully in the background, giants, sure, but the
herbivore kind; I will not venture to write any name of species, with the expectation
of
Velociraptor,
Tyrannosaur – and even here, I have to say that ‘Raptor’ is clearly there, in
the book, I am not that sure now about the first names in this line: the debut
of the novel is different (for the undersigned) in that you do have incidents
right from the start. Including the frightening naming of the ‘Raptor’
Yuval Harari
https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/08/homo-deus-brief-history-of-tomorrow-by.html is one of the greatest minds of the
present (and potentially ever) and the title of one of his master works, Homo
Deus, makes clear some of his vision, which we also see in Jurassic Park, Man
as God is in here
There is
even a very impressive introduction on biotechnology and the absence of rules,
laws to regulate, avoid the scenarios that are eventually unfolding in the
science fiction novel, published as early as 1990, indeed, I was wondering
during the audiobook what has changed in the meantime – the actor reading is
wonderful, by the way
Lord of flies https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2026/06/lord-of-flies-by-william-golding-is-on.html is another chef d’oeuvre that comes
to mind, because of the main theme there, ‘if you have no rules, you have
nothing’, and that is what happens in Jurassic Park: they fiddle with the DNA
and create those dinosaurs
The idea is
to have this theme park, where visitors would spend huge sums of money, the Jurassic
and Cretaceous animals would be on display, and everything will be safe, with
electrified fences, this is an island near Costa Rica, it will be perfect, only
as maybe one billion people on the planet know, the result is a calamity
It is also
credible to a large extent, humans have this ability, and if in different
areas, we do see entrepreneurs that act like Homo Deus, the gods of IT, and I
am thinking especially of Elon Musk, to be praised for the electric cars, the
rockets, but such an obnoxious, disgusting destructive tycoon when it comes to
almost all else…
