Women who Kill Men by Mihau Tonetki

Das ewig weibliche…with 7 out of 10

We are used with works where men appear to be chauvinistic, arrogant and even aggressive towards women

Mankind is an example of male decisions- man stands for human and mankind for the whole human race.

We do not say womankind and for 99% of history, women have been treated badly, denied the vote and a voice,

They have been relegated to the cave and then to the kitchen, doing lesser work and often treated as slaves.

Alas, even today women are mistreated in many parts of the world, where their second class status is enshrined in the law of land.

When that law is sharia, or whatever males make out of it, there are all kinds of restrictions and penalties for women.

As the title makes plain, in this story women are not the victims and they turn the position of females on its head.

They have had enough and they want revenge.

Two women have taken a man prisoner and want to make him pay for his philandering and improper attitude towards women

As a man, I have mixed feelings and on one hand understand women’s grievances, but on the other I fear that one man cannot pay for all.

This male is waking up from a drinking night only to find that he cannot move, because he is tied up in an unfamiliar place.

The two women talk nicely if sarcastically with their prisoner who has asked for it since he picked up two strangers in a bar-

-          You were hoping for an orgy

-          How could I want such a thing

After the initial kind or at least decent exchange of pleasantries, the man is pouring insults over the kidnappers.

-          You are idiots…and then vampires

Torture methods and final exit are then discussed, with needles and a shot through the heart being promoted as options for death.

This was not bad and the passing from one threat to another strange scene was funny and rewarding, with cherry on top.

The guy stated that he was alone and free as a bird and now that he faces his jailors he is trying to make it look reasonable.

I do not know what to think of the moments when the man is left alone with one and then the other of the kidnappers.

A bond seems to be developing, somewhat like a Stockholm syndrome, but what are the women doing getting close to the man?

Is this confusing and against the course of the story or is it just me thinking that those women are determined to make the man pay?

-          How do you get payback, by warming up to the enemy?

Now I get it- women are so kind, generous, gentle, sociable, forgiving, magnanimous, serene, awesome and much more- that they embrace the enemy…

-          Or don’t they?
