The important members of the same team that gave cinephiles the marvelous gift of The Worst Person in The World https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/12/note-on-worst-person-in-world.html - most likely, they have also invited engineers, technicians as well – have reunited for Sentimental Value, one of the best films of this year

Joachim Trier is the director and writer, along with Eskil Vogt, just as Renate Reinsve as the leading role again, that of Nora Borg - Anders Danielsen Lie has been ‘demoted’, though he still has a good contribution, just like the rest of the cast and crew, indeed, four thespians are nominated for The Golden Globes

Stellan Skarsgård has the role of Gustav Borg, I must say that something in the actor does not quite appeal to me, however, that makes the fact that the motion picture works so well even more remarkable, seeing this and other obstacles, here is another one – Norwegians appear so different to what I am used with

Ruben Ostland https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/rutan-by-ruben-ostlund-director-and.html is another great Scandinavian film maker – let us not forget one of the greatest five of all time, Ingrid Bergman, mentioned by Stellan Skarsgard recently because of his Nazi sympathies – and I was impressed by his Force Majeure

In the latter, we have this family, parents and two children, on a skiing vacation in Switzerland I think it was, and while they enjoy a drink on a terrace, suddenly there is a Force Majeure: an avalanche is approaching, the father just abandons the family and runs for his life, except the wall of snow leaves all untouched

Now back to Gustav Borg, the character who is also a film maker, he comes home, when his former wife dies, meets the family, including his daughters, Nora and Agnes, he wants a meeting with his elder child, who is an actress, and says that he has written this script, with her in mind, except Nora refuses the offer

She is adamant that they cannot communicate – the artist has abandoned them, Nora has had to support Agnes, the latter is grateful and explains that she has a husband, son, because she could rely on her sister in childhood, while the latter has no family of her own, and has attempted suicide, because of her troubled childhood

Nevertheless, Gustav Borg offers the leading role to a Hollywood star, Rachel Kemp aka Elle Fanning, who was also nominated for a Golden Globe, indeed, this is a very difficult personage to put on screen, for although enraptured, the American celebrity does not fit the part, Elle Fanning has to play a person who cannot act well

At least not well enough for what Gustav Borg has in mind, there was a spoiler alert in the first few lines, and I just introduced another by referring to the first, so I am free to say that there would be a chance for Gustav Borg and Nora to reestablish a filial connection, perhaps through art, in spite of her adversity for the estranged parent

Now for my standard closing of the note with a question, and invitation – I am on Goodreads as Realini Ionescu, at least for the moment, if I keep on expressing my views on Orange Woland aka TACO, it may be a short-lived presence

Also, maybe you have a good idea on how we could make more than a million dollars with this https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html – as it is, this is a unique technique, which we could promote, sell, open the Oscars show with or something and then make lots of money together, if you have the how, I have the product, I just do not know how to get the benefits from it, other than the exercise per se

There is also the small matter of working for AT&T – this huge company asked me to be its Representative for Romania and Bulgaria, on the Calling Card side, which meant sailing into the Black Sea wo meet the US Navy ships, travelling to Sofia, a lot of activity, using my mother’s two bedrooms flat as office and warehouse, all for the grand total of $250, raised after a lot of persuasion to the staggering $400…with retirement ahead, there are no benefits, nothing…it is a longer story, but if you can help get the mastodont to pay some dues, or have an idea how it can happen, let me know

As for my role in the Revolution that killed Ceausescu, a smaller Mao, there it is http://realini.blogspot.com/2022/03/realini-in-newsweek-participant-in.html

Some favorite quotes from To The Hermitage and other works

‘Fiction is infinitely preferable to real life...As long as you avoid the books of Kafka or Beckett, the everlasting plot of fiction has fewer futile experiences than the careless plot of reality...Fiction's people are fuller, deeper, cleverer, more moving than those in real life…Its actions are more intricate, illuminating, noble, profound…There are many more dramas, climaxes, romantic fulfillment, twists, turns, gratified resolutions…Unlike reality, all of this you can experience without leaving the house or even getting out of bed…What's more, books are a form of intelligent human greatness, as stories are a higher order of sense…As random life is to destiny, so stories are to great authors, who provided us with some of the highest pleasures and the most wonderful mystifications we can find…Few stories are greater than Anna Karenina, that wise epic by an often foolish author…’
