A little horror story that was quite good- 8 out of 10
It all starts with innocent students paying a visit to their teacher- Elena Sergheievna, who is celebrating her birthday.
But that is how movies like Friday the 13th or Texas Chainsaw Massacre and vampire tales start, sedating the public.
These students wish their teacher all the best and congratulate and influence her, trying to appear the kindest guys on earth.
They talk about their plans to attend various universities and then about the exam which just took place.
It was a disaster, because they did not know a thing and this in spite of the fact that the teacher has tried to help.
This is about the only bad thing that Elena Sergheievna does throughout this adaptation, where she is the good heroine.
Among the students Volodea is the leader and most corrupt of them all, a villain that at times puts Rasputin to shame.
After the initial amiabilities and offers of help with the teacher’s mother, who has a serious medical issue, the gloves come off.
The young ones turn out to be a bunch of cheats and blackmailers, confessing to lies and deceit throughout the past year.
They want the keys that their teacher has to the safe where the exam papers are kept and then to change their results.
Elena Sergheievna is horrified and wants to throw them out as soon as she hears their true motives for the visit.
The mischievous minds have no limit to their sick imagination, if only they used creative skills to solving school problems.
Volodea presents a plan whereby a violent act is threatened; Vitea would be threatened with murder.
The teacher, affected with the Antigone syndrome would give in and let them have their way with the keys, the exam and all.
At least in the plan, but that fails and the girl takes center stage, exposing disgusting ideals and values.
The girl starts by criticising the hair, clothes and appearance of the teacher and then makes the apology of a material, cynical lifestyle.
- I would sell my virginity to the highest bidder
After this shocking revelation, the virgin shows a gradually more humane side of a very complex personality.
She jumps to the defense of the teacher and we learn that her childhood was negative and she has a terrible wish to be unlike her mother.
The fear of poverty is a very powerful pressure and that anxiety can be terrible- I know from my own experience.
The boys start drinking and then they move on to terrible acts, all following the master of horrible ceremonies- Volodea.
As a disciple of Satan or other dark forces, this man will stop at nothing and after a few failed attempts he increases the stakes.
I will stop here, even if the chances of any spoiling of a possible consequent reading of this play are one in a million.
The writer does not appear anywhere so if I have a few readers of this note; they are unlikely to ever find the work.
So if you want to know what happens at the end of the play you could contact me…that is, if I do not forget the end, by the time – 10 years from now? - Anyone feels that urge.
