Flabbergasted!
Well, maybe
I was not really so overwhelmed, but then this is one of the best motion
pictures I have seen this year – that is, launched in the last ten months,
otherwise, Challengers, seen again last night, is just as good, but it is
‘older’ – and furthermore, it gives us a scary idea about what could happen, someday
soon
My leit
motif: especially since we have this orange eejit at the top of the ‘free
world’ – it used to be a concept, a laudable achievement, but that universe is
crumbling, demolished as the East Wing of The White House – we are even more in
danger than usual, because this freak can do anything, he kills fishermen in
the Caribbean.
Yes, I know,
they are labeled ‘drug dealers’, but then who the fuck knows, there is no
proof, and even if they were ‘mules’, what on earth is happening, executions in
international waters, when there is not even a death sentence for this crime,
if it is proved in court (as it must be, in a democracy), this is insane, to
quote A House of Dynamite
Kathryn
Bigelow has won two Oscars, and many other trophies, for her chef d’oeuvre The
Hurt Locker https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/10/a-note-on-hurt-locker.html one for Best Motion Picture and the
other for Best Achievement in Directing, and if she was not the first, then at
least one of the first women to get there
In this new
spectacular film, there is a crisis – as I write this, I have to think again
about what this ‘very stable genius’, in his own false and stupid words, would
do in this scenario, after all, he has posted a video recently, with him
piloting a fighter jet (AI produced) with a crown on his head, and bombing Americans
with

Shit!
I mean this
is not just disgusting, gruesome, and we could add more words in that line
here, but it is also disqualifying and ‘inconceivable’, to quote that other
fool, from The Princess Bride https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/01/the-princess-bride-by-william-goldman.html by fabulous William Goldman
The title of
House of Dynamite refers to the fact that the world is now full of atomic (and
so many other) weapons, proliferating to the point where this film can really
happen in reality – the exchange at one point is ‘this is madness’, says the
president, and the answer from an adviser is: ‘no, it is reality’ and we could go
up in smoke
North Korea
has many, and not just that, but they expand the means to deliver them, they
have rockets, missiles that could reach the USA, just like in the movie, and
then Iran is close and looks like getting atomic bombs soon, so this accident
or deliberate launch could be ‘Arrive Pres de Chez Vous’ like in that magnum
opus https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/10/cest-arrive-pres-de-chez-vous-aka-man.html one of the best films ever
The ending
of A House of Dynamite is also perfect, not that I am about to share it here,
albeit I am always amused by the notion that people read this – I did receive a
few complaints (maybe four in all) from some folks that did go through the
lines, but this is just one in a thousand, these are the odds, and it’s just as
well…
Now for my
standard closing of the note with a question, and invitation – I am on
Goodreads as Realini Ionescu, at least for the moment, if I keep on expressing
my views on Orange Woland aka TACO, it may be a short-lived presence
Also, maybe
you have a good idea on how we could make more than a million dollars with this
https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2025/09/do-you-have-any-feedback.html – as it is, this is a unique
technique, which we could promote, sell, open the Oscars show with or something
and then make lots of money together, if you have the how, I have the product,
I just do not know how to get the benefits from it, other than the exercise per
se
There is also the small matter of working for
AT&T – this huge company asked me to be its Representative for Romania and
Bulgaria, on the Calling Card side, which meant sailing into the Black Sea wo
meet the US Navy ships, travelling to Sofia, a lot of activity, using my
mother’s two bedrooms flat as office and warehouse, all for the grand total of
$250, raised after a lot of persuasion to the staggering $400…with retirement
ahead, there are no benefits, nothing…it is a longer story, but if you can help
get the mastodont to pay some dues, or have an idea how it can happen, let me
know
As for my
role in the Revolution that killed Ceausescu, a smaller Mao, there it is http://realini.blogspot.com/2022/03/realini-in-newsweek-participant-in.html
Some
favorite quotes from To The Hermitage and other works
‘Fiction is
infinitely preferable to real life...As long as you avoid the books of Kafka or
Beckett, the everlasting plot of fiction has fewer futile experiences than the
careless plot of reality...Fiction's people are fuller, deeper, cleverer, more
moving than those in real life…Its actions are more intricate, illuminating,
noble, profound…There are many more dramas, climaxes, romantic fulfillment,
twists, turns, gratified resolutions…Unlike reality, all of this you can
experience without leaving the house or even getting out of bed…What's more,
books are a form of intelligent human greatness, as stories are a higher order
of sense…As random life is to destiny, so stories are to great authors, who
provided us with some of the highest pleasures and the most wonderful
mystifications we can find…Few stories are greater than Anna Karenina, that
wise epic by an often foolish author…’
