Geroge Orwell is best known for Nineteen Eighty-Four https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2024/12/nineteen-eighty-four-by-george-orwell.html and Animal Farm

 

Nevertheless, the introduction to The Essays argues that people might read in the future his essays and the other books might be forgotten, critics have apparently attacked the novels and one says Orwell is one of the greatest essayists

 

It seemed to me that George Orwell was the quintessential political writer, Animal Farm https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/2024/08/animal-farm-by-george-orwell-one-of.html is such an accurate depiction of totalitarian societies – especially the one we lived in, that was under Ceausescu and you have a link at the end

What we get from the introduction is the various ways you can understand the capital works of this luminary, they were using his works in dictatorships from Africa to Latin America, and then there is the humor

 

Someone has seen the humor – graveyard or dark – in what seem to be tragedies, exclusively, considering the torture and that bleak future, but we could use The Golden Mean of Aristotle, maybe the truth is in the middle

Geroge Orwell gives four main reasons for writing – he started as a child, his mother would take his dictation when he was four, and there was this poem about a tiger with ‘chair like teeth’ or something like that

 

The author admits that it was probably taken from William Blake – the fourth reason would “Writers often aim to influence societal values and beliefs, pushing for change or advocating for specific ideologies through their narratives.”
