I have read this book when I was a teenager and thought it fantastic, not anymore, though there are some good points, and if some years ago, one would be a crank if one maintained he had been taken by aliens (well, that is still true) seen them, or some ships, UFOs have become something else now, I forgot the name

 

However, even if it is not mainstream and not everyone will accept that we have aliens among ourselves – Orange Jesus is the paradigm of the fool from another planet, but metaphorically, not ad literam – there have been some changes, they have commissions, committees investigating sightings of unexplained phenomenon

Actually, I think that is the acronym UAP or something, as in Unexplained Aerial…no, that’s not it, but let us move on and say that perceptions have moved to maybe there are things happening that we do not know about, we could not explain what some pilots have seen, if it is an optical illusion, that is fine, we have a closure

 

But some of the movements of objects flying with speeds that are way above what humans have made so far, the agility of certain objects are beyond what people have built, launched up to now, and even if in some instances it could be military maneuvers, the Americans and Russians, maybe Chinese, still, we have to explore more

Erich von Daniken looked at the past, ancient times even, and came to the conclusion that there are events, stories, even passages in the bible that show there have been ‘Chariots of the Gods’, extraterrestrials have visited and then they are responsible for the pyramids say, and other marvelous achievements

 

He has a point, certainly, and more than one argument, the pyramid of what, Keops, was the highest building on earth for millennia, so how could those Egyptians, who did not have knowledge of iron and the wheel (if I am not mistaken) built something so awesome, which would be a challenge today, what with cranes and all

The easy conclusion is that there must have been Martians, inhabitants of the universe that were far more advanced and helped, or simply used their knowledge and this is why we see those fantastic creations, a theory that had been debunked, more or less, scientists have recreated the journey on the Nile and more

They used thousands of people, rolled the stones and created ramps, so they have recreated the process, nevertheless, it is still incredible and maybe there was some extraterrestrial implication, maybe not, the case is not absolutely closed, if you ask me, although it is more of 1% aliens, 99% chances it was just earthlings

 

It is not Daniken, he makes the case of the Chariots of the Gods, explained in the title, but I am stuck with what this scientist said – something like this: intelligent souls from other planets would not risk it to land here, think of the conquistadores, and the way they wiped out populations in the Americas, or Australia and aborigines

In other words, you can take something from earth, bring it back and endanger your ‘people’ home, whole populations could be wiped out, as happened in the aforementioned cases, and there is more, we just had Covid, then there was the plague and so much more, the Spanish flu killed more than World War I

But the speculation in this book is that the deluge aka the flood was in fact the work of those visitors from out of space, who came to the conclusion that they want to wipe out this and many other species – maybe because of the argument up there, that they would get infected so better clean the place up, kill all the bacteria

 

It was all known in advance, right, so we could affirm that Daniken does stretch it and there were other places, where I think his argument can e seen as weak, why would those populations in the Americas have what looks like landing strips, well, it can go down to imagination, or simpler, we just do not know, people do crazy things

Yes, they have those intricate, wonderful, giant drawings in the desert, in South America, which one would say they must have made them for people who fly, or for people read the Gods, aliens, and the presence of more advanced beings, visitors is required to explain how they did it, says Daniken and others, but maybe it is not the right answer
